Shepherd Hill Music Parents Association
The Shepherd Hill Music Parents Association (SHMPA) exists to provide support to the Shepherd Hill choral and instrumental groups.
Our Mission:
"To assist the music directors and support the activities of the Shepherd Hill Regional High School music department, and to provide experiences outside of the typical high school music curriculum within the established policies of the school. All activities and decisions of this association will conform to the views of the administration and the music directors of Shepherd Hill Regional High School."
The SHMPA meets on the first Wednesday of each month, at 7pm, in the Shepherd Hill cafeteria. Please join us at our next meeting.
BULB-A-THON To Help Our Show Chiors Get To Chicago: Shepherd Hill Regional High School sponsors two competitive show choirs: an all girls group, “Illusion” and a mixed choir, “Fantasy.” For the past 28 years these “gold medal” groups have proudly represented the communities of Dudley and Charlton, Massachusetts, earning recognition for their high standards of performance and trend-setting shows.
On Saturday, March 17, 2012 the choirs participated in the FAME Events Show Choir National Championship Series Qualifying Event in New York City. BOTH choirs earned a spot at the National Competition being held in Chicago on April 20 and 21. This is an incredible honor and tremendous opportunity for these students who have been recognized as one of the top show choirs in the nation in both the unisex and mixed choir divisions. But help is needed! Students who participate in show choir are responsible for the cost of uniforms and travel. They now find themselves in a position where, although they have earned their place at Nationals, they do not have the financial resources to get there.
